Denver Broncos
Punter-kicker Micah Knorr
has been named the NFL's
Special Team's Player of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
In Sunday night's 34-24 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, Knorr boomed six touchbacks and permitted Kansas City’s All-Star
returner Dante Hall only one kickoff return for 17 yards. Knorr also punted twice for a 56.5
average with a long of 66-yards and one inside the 20.
The six touchbacks were the most in one game by a
Denver player since Rich Karlis planted six at home against the Chiefs in 1983.
Thanks in part to Knorr’s kickoffs and punts, nine of Kansas City’s 12
possessions began inside the Chiefs’ 25-yard line.
In his fifth year from Utah State, this is
Knorr’s first career Player of the Week Award.
