Former Raven FB Sam Gash became the Broncos first free agent visitor of the offseason.

Former Baltimore Raven fullback Sam Gash celebrated his thirty-third birthday Thursday, meeting with, who could potentially be, his next employer; the Denver Broncos.

Gash, the first free agent to visit the Mile High city this season, met with offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak and running backs coach Bobby Turner on Wednesday and spoke with Mike Shanahan today, in an attempt to iron out a contract agreement.

"We've still got to talk about a few things, but hopefully we can get things settled up," Gash told reporters. "This is a great organization, they're proven winners.“

The 10-year veteran is expected to replace Howard Griffith, who was forced into retirement with a neck injury, as the primary blocking back, a role that earned the Penn State star back-to-back Pro Bowl appearances in 1998 and 1999.

Gash was originally drafted in the second round by New England, spending six seasons (1992-1997) with the Patriots.
