The Denver Broncos have waived 12 players and placed rookie wide receiver Domenik Hixon (in photo) on the reserve/non-football injury list.

Hixon, selected by the Broncos in the fourth round (130th overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft from the University of Akron, has a left foot injury.

The transactions reduced Denver’s roster to the NFL maximum 75-man limit. The Broncos’ roster must be reduced to 53 players by Saturday afternoon.

Beginning Sunday, Denver can establish a practice squad of up to eight players.

The following 12 players were waived by the Broncos on Tuesday:
