The Denver Broncos on Tuesday placed safety Sam Brandon on the reserve/injured list with a right knee injury, Head Coach Mike Shanahan announced.
Brandon (6-foot-2, 200 pounds) suffered his right knee injury during the Broncos’ 31-20 win at Pittsburgh on Sunday. In eight games (0 starts) this season, Brandon totaled 15 tackles (9 solo), one pass breakup and one fumble recovery while contributing three tackles on special teams.
The fifth-year pro has played all 63 career regular-season games (12 starts) with Denver and totaled 110 tackles (82 solo), one interception, 12 pass breakups, four fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. Brandon, who was selected by Denver in the fourth round (131st overall) of the 2002 NFL Draft from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, also has made 37 career tackles on special teams.
