In 2006, Green played all 16 games for the Broncos and placed sixth on the club with seven special-teams tackles while posting a forced fumble and a fumble recovery on coverage units. The 27-year-old also was selected as the Broncos’ nominee for the Ed Block Courage Award.

After spending his rookie year in 2002 out of the NFL following a stint in the Ravens’ training camp, Green signed a future contract with the Broncos on Jan. 7, 2003. He competed for the Amsterdam Admirals of NFL Europe that spring and was on Denver’s practice squad for the final part of the 2003 season.
Green was a three-year starter at Alcorn State University, where he totaled 215 career tackles (114 solo) and earned All-Southwestern Athletic Conference honors. He attended Jefferson County High School in Lorman, Miss., and was born Sept. 23, 1979, in Vicksburg, Miss.
