Courtney Brown released

The Denver Broncos have released defensive end Courtney Brown after two injury plagued seasons and a failed physical.

The Broncos acquired Brown from the Cleveland Browns in 2005, where he also had continuing injury problems.

Browns injuries included sprained ankle, a couple of knee injuries, a ruptured right biceps tendon, a left foot injury and a dislocated elbow. Last summer a left knee injury kept him out of training camp and the start of the regular season. He was placed on injured reserve on October 11.

Brown, a former No. 1` draft pick, missed the entire 2006 season after a strong contribution to the team in 2005 when he played in all but one game. It was the first time in his career that he missed an entire season, however he only played in 45 of 96 games during his seasons with the Browns and the Broncos.
