The Denver Broncos have taken their first step in Free Agency, signing former Carolina Panthers wide receiver Keary Colbert.

In the first forty-eight hours of free agency the Denver Broncos played the trifecta, resigning veterans John Lynch and Ebeneezer Ekuban to one-year deals and bringing in former Carolina Panthers wide receiver Keary Colbert on what’s rumored to be a three-year, $7million deal.

Colbert, the Panthers second round pick in the 2004 draft, has been pretty much an afterthought on Carolina’s roster the past two seasons and was hampered with knee and ankle issues throughout 2007. The Broncos are hoping that under the right system the former USC Trojan will live up to second round potential.

Ekuban, who had a visit with the Raiders on Saturday, returned to Colorado and immediately struck a deal that would keep him through 2008.
