Broncos Sign Braxton Kelley

The Denver Broncos made two moves late Tuesday, signing inside linebacker Braxton Kelley and placing inside linebacker Nick Greisen on Injured reserve with a knee injury.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos on Tuesday signed inside linebacker Braxton Kelley, it was announced.

The club also placed inside linebacker Nick Greisen (GRYE-sen) on injured reserve with a knee injury, it was announced.

Greisen (6-foot-1, 242 pounds) suffered the injury during the team's practice Monday.

Kelley initially joined the club as a college free agent on April 28. Kelley was waived by the Broncos on June 11. Kelley, who was a teammate of Denver inside linebacker Wesley Woodyard's in high school and college, totaled 287 tackles (175 solo), 6.5 sacks (30 yds.), four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and six pass breakups in 46 games (42 starts) at the University of Kentucky. Named the team's Most Outstanding Defensive Player after registering a team and career-best 98 tackles (49 solo), four sacks (21 yds.), two pass breakups and two forced fumbles in 13 games as a senior in 2008. Kelley played at LaGrange High School in LaGrange, Ga., and earned All-Georgia recognition from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Kelley was born on Oct. 24, 1986, in LaGrange, Ga.
